For two years, Trinity Lee served as AmeriCorps Vista volunteer through the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. She supported watershed capacity-building initiatives for the Town Run Water Group (TRWG), and two other watershed organizations. Now she is heading off to a new position at the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay where she will be the Capacity Building Projects Coordinator. Her contributions to the TRWG were recognized at the Steering Committee meeting in July.
Members of the Steering Committee commended Trinity’s work and her many contributions to the TRWG. Diane Niedzialkowski, who served as Trinity’s mentor and supervisor during her tenure, got to know Trinity well over the two years of their weekly meetings and collaboration on projects. Diane said, “In addition to her technical competence, and knowledge of watershed assessments, Trinity is a really nice person which made working with her a pleasure. She taught me a lot about technology and I often felt like she was my mentor!”
“Trinity was an important addition to our volunteer team.” said Georgette Blanchfield. “She developed proficiency in technical programs such as Little Green Light, CANVA and Basecamp which helped grow our organization and enhance our communication and outreach effectiveness.”
Trinity participated in the weekly monitoring of the Town Run as part of the Potomac Riverkeepers water quality assessments, supporting Greg Welter, TRWG Steering Committee member. Greg gave abundant thanks to Trinity for her hard work and contributions over the past two years. “Your reliability and positive attitude will be greatly missed.”
Kay Schultz thanked Trinity for her considerable impact raising the visibility and importance of Town Run in the greater Shepherdstown Community. Trinity brought her extensive experience with other watershed organizations, and work with the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, into her projects with TRWG. Trinity was also recognized for authoring and leading youth education events, suggesting better systems for greater effectiveness, participating in water quality monitoring and helping grow the visibility and importance of Town Run in the Community.
