Back Alley Garden Refresher -Please Help!

After two years, the planting area along Town Run at Back Alley needs refreshment and renewal.  Adding priority to this effort, the area has been selected for the Shepherdstown Community Club’s Backyard Garden tour coming up in two months on May 16 and 17.

Town Run Watershed Group’s Restoration Project Leader, Peggy Bowers, has developed a schedule for the assessment, cleanup, weeding, planting and mulching work there and will be guiding our work. Bee City volunteers will also help.  

Please consult your calendars and find which of the planned work days will fit for you.  We’d love for you to join us!

3/21 at 11 am – move stones, assess, clean up dog poop and trash

4/8 at 11am – continue cleaning, weeding and assessment

4/19 at 2 pm- cut back perennials

5/3 at 2 pm- plant, weed and mulch

5/15 at 11am – install signs, supply list of plants, touch up
