Risks and Resiliencies for Water Security in Town Run (slides)

Join us on Thursday, October 10 at 7:00 at the Robert C. Byrd Center  – for a special presentation: Town Run: Risks and Resiliences with Dr. Than Hitt

Shepherdstown soon will be blending water from Town Run with the Potomac River as its primary source of drinking water, and this requires an understanding of the associated risks and resiliencies. In this presentation, Dr. Hitt explains how karst geology affects Town Run and municipal water supplies across the region as well as the potential effects of climate and land use change. He also identifies vital issues for future research and underscores the importance of citizen participation in this effort moving forward.”
