Town Run Cleanup Makes a Splash!

Topics & Issues

About 30 volunteers joined Saturday to help remove trash and invasive plants at 3 locations along Town Run – along the Princess Street riverside park, between the stone walls along Jefferson Security Bank (JSB), and at Morgan’s Grove Park.

Here are some folks digging invasive iris from the Run near JSB.  Some worked in the stream with waders. Others removed invasive plants and vines along the stream. Great work! Wonderful community response!

Thanks to folks from Boy Scout troop 42, Shepherd University, PVAS Master Naturalists, and all around the watershed!

The cleanup was hosted by the Town Run Watershed under the auspices of the Alice Ferguson Foundation and WV Make it Shine programs.
